COMMUNITY WORKSHOPS
Home and Farm*A*Syst materials have been utilized in community and source water protection workshops hosted by local partners (county Cooperative Extension offices, Conservation districts, public utilities offices, Health Departments, etc.). These workshops focused on particular water quality issues such as well and/or septic system maintenance, drinking water, household hazardous wastes, yard and garden care, animal lots and manure handling, etc. Workshops promoted best management practices and helped communities develop a sense of environmental stewardship.

PROFESSIONAL WORKSHOPS
These materials have been utilized in recertification or training workshops for professionals. These have included realtors, pesticide applicators, small acreage farmers, and classroom educators.

VOLUNTEER TRAINING PROGRAMS
The most successful projects involved training AmeriCorps volunteers to conduct drinking water protection projects, using Home and Farm*A*Syst materials, in high priority watershed areas of Washington. These watersheds have included the Columbia,Yakima, and Chehalis Basins. A number of WSU volunteer training programs have also utilized the materials (e.g., Livestock Advisors, Beachwatchers, Master Gardeners, and Wastewarriors).
